We are the Ballz of Steel

The Ballz of Steel Pool Club (originally The Balls of Steel Billiard Club) was founded in 1912 by entrepreneur Henry Steel. Steel dreamed of making a worldwide famous billiards club, and sought to recruit the biggest and best names in billiards to compete on his team. Steel built the BOS with nearly $100,000 at the time, having to borrow money from friends and family too. Fast forward to today and the BOS are the most valuable Pool franchise in the world at over $6 Billion. The BOS are also one of the most successful teams in Billiards/Pool history, winning 2 MBPA Championships, 6 World Pool Championships (the most of any team), 5 NPA Championships, 12 APA Championships (tied for the most of any team), and 28 WPA Championships. The BOS have also had many HOF players play for the team including the likes of Edward Conner, Jack White, Danny “the flasher” Green, Jeanette “The Black Widow” Lee, Willie Mosconi, Ralph Greenleaf, Mike Sigel, and current BOS Captain who is often recognized as the greatest pool player of all time Eduardo "Efren Reyes" Rodriguez. Henry Steel's family continued to own the BOS until the team was sold to ANT Inc. in 1988. Still to this day, Henry is honored, including having a statue outside Boeing Park Arena. Henry's love for Pool, and vision for this club has propelled the BOS to be one of, if not the most valuable and successful Pool franchises in the world. As our motto goes, BOS Pride Until We Die!
Club History

1912
The original BOS logo created by Henry Steel himself. The name "Balls of Steel" originated from the idea that the Balls in the game of pool belonged to Steel as his team would win them. At the time of this logo the team was officially known as the "Balls of Steel Billiard Club"

1935
Still known as the Balls of Steel at the time, the team logo officially started using the Stencil font and started showing an 8 Ball, two features of the logo that have remained to current day.

1957
The logo would slightly change in 1957 with an arc being added and the pool sticks being added in an "X" shape. "B.C." would also be added to the bottom to stand for Billiards Club.

1988
When ANT Inc. purchased the BOS in 1988, they slightly rebranded the team. Adding flames to the 8 Ball, adding grey to the color scheme and putting the logo in a circle. Additionally, ANT Inc. changed the team name to the "Ballz of Steel Pool Club", changing out the "s" in "Balls" with a "z", while also changing "Billiards Club" to "Pool Club". The change for "Ballz" came to distinguish the meaning of the team name from an inappropriate meaning, while the change to "Pool Club" came to differentiate from the similar sports Snooker and Carom billiards.

2002
The logo was updated slightly in 2002 with a darker shade of grey being used, and the "X" shaped pool sticks from the 1957 logo returning. This logo has remained virtually the same (with some slight modifications in 2024) and in use for the team since 2002.
